We spent the day discussing the five Key Beliefs of ALA: Address the Underlying Causes of Problems, The Power of One, The Power of Youth, The Need for Pan-African Cooperation, and Entrepreneurship is Fundamental to Growth. Normally, I have a really short attention span and quickly lose focus, and today we had two three-hour discussions - a recipe for disaster. But instead, the discussions were great! I'm kind of blown away by our team of faculty. They're really sharp and interesting and all totally on board with the mission of ALA. We'd throw ideas around the table, and every time someone would speak, I found myself gaining valuable new insight into a situation or a goal. This has the potential to be a very powerful team.
